Also good looking and of substantial material- not a cheap product. It is very well made and very comfortable. Besides that, you won’t find authentic reproduction hats of such military grade. Only reason for the 4 stars is the long shipping time that was remedied after contacting a competent employee to address the delays. The hat is of excellent quality for a reproduction that could pass for its authentic build. You will need to get it wet to get rid of the packing/shipping creases and shape the crown the way you want. And if you need the chin strap, who cares how you look. If you really need a chin strap, adjust the size by pulling in the loops. Then throw it over your hat to the back and forget about it.
Pull the ears a tada!, the chin strap adjusts to any size. Turns out that you make 2 bunny ears with the strap and feed each ear into each of the canvas loops. I had to do some research on how they worked. In this case, it’s old school with 2 little canvas “collars” that are unattached. No leather or plastic piece to help adjust the strap.
The chin strap adjustments threw me a bit. Expect a “Jungle Green”, not a dark “Army Green”. The color is a bit lighter than expected, but in all honestly, it does match the website photo.
